Colonel Burton Moir Kellogg

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Colonel Burton Moir Kellogg, USAF (Ret.) entered into eternal rest on the evening of July 18, 2005.

The family will receive friends at the residence on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service at 5:30 p.m.

Col. Kellogg was born October 4, 1925, in Shellsburg, Iowa, the son of Alonzo John Kellogg and Rhoda Moir Kellogg. He received his master's degree in education from Jackson State University. He was a member of the American Legion Post #147 James Island, VFW Post # 445, James Island, and The Daedalians Pilots Association. He retired from the United States Air Force and as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch.

He is survived by one son, L. Daniel Kellogg of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Bonnie Kellogg Byrnes of LaGrange, Ga.; one sister, Beverley Kellogg Freeman of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, Patricia Danielle Walters of LaGrange and Harris Griffith Burton Walters of LaGrange.
