Memorial services for Mr. Burton T. Riggin will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hankins and Rev. Marlin Betts officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Riggin passed away on March 28, 2007, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in Europe. Mr. Riggin was attached to the Battery B 554th Anti Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. He served in four out of five of the major battles in WWII. Mr. Riggin was self employed and worked with his brother, Hubert, as a carpenter and painter until his brother passed away. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt, and work in his garden. He was also a past member of the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Riggin was preceded in death by parents, Elbert Compton and Amanda Ellen Riggin and his brothers and sisters, Howard Clifton Riggin, Hettie Elsie Riggin, Hubert Cecil Riggin, Elbert Carl Riggin, Francis Ellen Riggin, and Travis Buford Riggin.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Beryl Hatten Riggin of West Monroe, LA; two sons, Ronnie Riggin and wife Pam of Monroe, LA; and Steve Riggin of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Gloria Riggin White and husband Larry of Tulsa, Ok; grandchildren, Laine Riggin Mulhearn and husband Butch of Calhoun, LA; Joey Riggin and fiancée Hannah Butler both of Ruston, LA; Monica Carter; Holly Hutson; Anthony Riggin; Wendy Michelle Ballesteros and husband Xavier; Stephanie Beryl Rooney and husband Brian; Alfie Smith and husband Richard all of Monroe, LA; Michael Ramsey and wife Catherine of West Monroe, LA; Brian Ramsey and wife Melissa of Stowe, VT; sister-in-law, Dorothy Duffy of St. Augustine, FL; thirteen great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
