COPLEY -- C. Lee Manley, who in 1947 developed a special tractor for garden use, died Friday in Akron City hospital. He was 70.
He was the owner of the Manley Engineering and Machine Works in Copley and had been designing and building machinery since 1930, particularly for mining and chemical companies. He named the tractor the "Blue Ox."
Born in Kent, he had lived in Copley the last 40 years.
HE LEAVES wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Messner, Streetsboro, and Mrs. David Alm; son John, Cleveland, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pfeifle funeral home, where friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Copley cemetery.
