Calvin Doyle Slaughter

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m., at Middle Creek Baptist Church, for Calvin Doyle Slaughter, 19, who was killed instantly Wednesday, at Airhart's Sawmill near Hornbeck.

Rev. H. H. Tibbitts, pastor of Plainview Baptist Church, and Rev. Willie Nolen, pastor of Prewitt's Chapel Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Middle Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Slaughter of Hornbeck; two sisters, Mrs. Eula M. Killian of Shreveport, and Miss Janice Slaughter of Hornbeck; two brothers, Raymond Slaughter, and Louis D. Slaughter of Hornbeck; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brumley of Many, and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Oxley of Hornbeck.

Pallbearers were Gene Ray Parker, Homer Lynn Brown, Douglas Chance, Billy Ray Knippers, Windell Siglers, and Gerald Hyatt.
