Rites Saturday for C. W. Flacy
Funeral services for C. W. Flacy, Sr., 60, of 304 Benton St., Monroe, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe with Dr. James T. Horton officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. Flacy, retired chief of the fire prevention bureau for the Monroe Fire Department died at St. Francis Hospital Thursday night after a long illness.
He was a native of Lake Charles, a resident of Monroe for 57 years, an employee of the fire department for 37 years, a past member of the civil service board and a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Arretha Flacy of Monroe; two sons, C. W. Flacy Jr., of Minden and Robert M. Flacy of West Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Jane Durham of Parma, Mich., and Mrs. Merily Miller of Monroe; one brother, Millard Flacy of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Crevitt of Natchez, Miss., and Miss Mary Flacy of Monroe and ten grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Roddey, Homer Massingill, Cleve Cornett, W. A. Cornett, C. W. Fisher, David Cantrell, Earl Nealy, and George Wood.
