CANDACE E. SIMONS
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Ellisville Cemetery, for Mrs. Candace B. [sic E.] Simons, 82, of Hattiesburg, formerly of Ellisville, who died Dec. 3 at Conva-Rest Health Center in Hattiesburg following a lengthy illness.
The Rev. Dwight Smith will officiate.
Mrs. Simons was a native of Ellisville and had lived in Hattiesburg for the past three-and-one-half years. She was a graduate of Jones County Junior College Nursing School. She retired in 1974 after nursing for a number of years at Community Hospital. She was a member of 38th Avenue Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, and a former member of West Ellisville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. B.M. (Ruby) Cook of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren, Candace Flint of Pascagoula, and Alton B. Cook of Alvin, Texas; one great-grandson, Phillip Flint of Pascagoula; and a number of nieces and nephews.
