Carey L. Williams
Carey L. Williams, 83, of Liberty, died May 8, 2010, at his residence.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church, and 10 a.m. Monday until services there at 11 with Dr. David Bishop and the Rev. Zach Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Fork Cemetery near Liberty.
Brown Funeral Home of Gloster is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Liberty to Carey Jackson Williams and Ina Toler Williams.
He was a chemical plant operator with Goodrich Chemicals, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a merchant marine and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Florene Richardson.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Spillman Williams of Liberty; two daughters, Vicki Barry and husband Paul of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Theresa Foley and husband Jay of Slidell, La.; three grandsons, Jamie Lockard and wife Christy of Decatur, Ala., Chris Lockard of Liberty and John Foley of Baton Rouge; one great-grandson, Taylor Lockard; one step-great-grandson, Quinn Terry; and numerous other family members and friends.
Pallbearers are Jamie Lockard, Chris Lockard, Jay Foley, John Foley, Chris Williams and Reggie Richardson.
