Cargle Branch, Montgomery, Dies August 8

Cargle Branch, Sr., 72, of Montgomery, died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 1973 at his home following a short illness. He was a deputy marshal in Montgomery and a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Cargle Branch, Jr. and Jessie Branch, both of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Francis Freeman of Kennewick, Wash., and Mrs. Elsie Laurent of Montgomery; one brother, Herbert Branch of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Oscar Bordelon and Mrs. Christine Gullage, both of Montgomery, Mrs. Berdie Barnett of Monroe and Mrs. Odell Lemoine of Opelousas, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. James Gorham officiating, assisted by Rev. Chip Latch. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
