Girod, Carl Hershel

A retired employee of Dixon Correctional Institute and a resident of Jackson, he died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 84 and a native of Transylvania. He served in the U.S. Army with the 43rd Engineers during World War II. Arrangements are pending with Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary.

Survived by his wife, Lois Chapman Girod of Jackson; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Hary of Prairieville; two sons, C. Keith Girod, D.D.S., and wife Elizabeth Dwyer of Prairieville and Barth Blaine Girod and wife Jennifer Lemoine of Tunica; two sisters, Edna Moe of Florida and Johnnie Belle White of Houston; a brother, Preston Girod of Houston; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
