Carl Lafayette Brewster, Jr.
(June 26, 1924 - May 10, 2011)

Funeral services for Carl Lafayette Brewster, Jr. will be on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lone Pine with Rev. David Newton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at Greenoaks Memorial Park - Florida Blvd. - Baton Rouge under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Carl Lafayette Brewster, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Riverside Hospital in Alexandria, LA. He was 86 years old and lived in Lone Pine, LA and had been a resident of Baton Rouge during his employment with the LA Dept of Labor and was retired with the Texas Employment Commission. He was a past member of the Florida Blvd. Baptist Church of Baton Rouge. He was also a US Navy veteran in the submarine service during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L. Brewster, Sr. and Neva McDaniel Brewster, three brothers, William Houston Brewster, Harold Raymond Brewster and Robert Allan Brewster and his first wife, Wanda Kirkland Brewster.

He is survived by his wife, Versa Harden Brewster of Lone Pine; daughter, Patricia B. Crout and husband, Tom, of Alexandria; son, John David Brewster and wife, Mary, of Denham Springs; five grandchildren, Jeanette Crout McMahon and husband, Sean, of Fredricksburg, TX, Elizabeth Crout Wilson and husband, Andy, of Ozark, MO, Jaime Brewster Strahan of Geismar, LA, John Michael Brewster and wife, Beth, of Denham Springs and Benjamin Daniel Brewster of Denham Springs and five great grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Strahan, Bradford David McMahon, Claire Alison McMahon, Caroline Elizabeth Wilson and Catherine Ann Wilson.

Visitation will begin at the First Baptist Church of Lone Pine on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 3 p.m. and will close at the end of the funeral service.
