Carl C. Moore

Carl C. Moore, 62, of 2273 McDowell Rd., died Saturday in the Baptist Hospital following a brief illness.

He was a native of Pelahatchie, but had made his home in Jackson for the past 27 years. Proor [sic Prior] to his illness he was a foreman at the Filtrol Corp. He was a member of the Forest Hill Lodge No. 613 and was a member of West View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ena Searcy of Puckett; three daughters, Mrs. Marshall Sanford, Mrs. M. W. Bailey, Jr., and Mrs. Henry H. Walters, all of Jackson; his father, Charlie Moore of Pelahatchie; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Moore of Polkville and Rufus Moore and Dan W. Moore, both of Pearl; five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Morgan, Mrs. Henry Nobles and Mrs. T. Bowman, all of Pelahatchie, Mrs. Floyd Purvis of Polkville and Mrs. J. O. Maye of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday from the West View Baptist Church with his pastor Dr. L. Frank Campbell, officiating, assisted by Rev. Herman A. Milner, pastor of Van Winkle Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home.
