Carlton H. Fox Sr.

COSHOCTON -- Carlton H. Fox Sr., 82, of 1646 Woodland Drive, passed away the morning of Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at his residence.

Born Nov. 7, 1922, in Sikes, La., he was a son of the late David H. and Metoline (Hinton) Fox.

Fox was a graduate of Baskin High School in Baskin, La., and he was employed 37 years at Pretty Products in Coshocton, where he retired as manager of manufacturing. He was a member of the Coshocton Baptist Church.

Fox was also a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II and Pacific Theatre of Operations.

He married Lillian Layton on Oct. 21, 1944. She preceded him in death Oct. 17, 2004.

He is survived by one son, Carlton H. (Carla) Fox Jr. of Clayton; two daughters, Linda (William) Burnett of Houston, Texas, and Barbara (James) Shepherd of Santee, S.C.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, James F. (Jo) Fox of Winnsboro, La.; and two sisters, Catherine Jenkins of Winnsboro, La., and Betty Chapman of Delhi, La.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Reagan.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, with Pastor Paul Schwab officiating. Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home.

The Coshocton Veterans Council will handle graveside services.
