SHREVEPORT, LA - Carmel ``Connie'' Smith Lonadier went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2002. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2002 at Centuries Funeral Home Chapel, 8501 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. Rev. Clint Davis, pastor, First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, TX will officiate, assisted by Rev. Al Richardson, pastor, Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, Shreveport. Interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Stroud, Barney Burks, Nick Wright, Kerry Clark, Howard Clark and Malcolm Parker.
Mrs. Lonadier was born in Winn Parish on January 26, 1927. She was a member of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter 227, and was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Herbert Ivan Lonadier, and her parents Judge L. and Geneva Taylor Smith.
Surviving Mrs. Lonadier are sons, Thomas Wright and wife Pat of Bossier City, LA, Richard Wright of Ft. Worth, TX, Eric Lonadier and wife Donna of Blanchard, LA, Joseph Lonadier and wife Sabrina of Bossier City, LA and Rachel Bates and husband Mike of Bossier City, LA brothers, A. U. Smith and wife Betty Sue of Jonesville, LA and Eugene Smith and wife Helen of Carthage, TX one sister, Loyce Clark and husband Howard of Forth Worth, TX stepbrother, Ray Rhodes and wife Sybil of Mize, MS ``third sister'' Virginia Hopper of Shreveport, many much-loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.
Connie and Herb counted it a special blessing to be part of the Live Long & Like It Club (LLL's) at Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, and had many wonderful times with the group. For those desiring to do so, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to the LLL's, 610 Haynes Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71105 would be another blessing for Connie who loved more than anything to bless others.
