Funeral services for Carolyn McCarty, 74, of Wisner will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2005 in Wisner First Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment will follow in South Central Cemetery in Wisner under the direction of Gill First national Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will be Wednesday form 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

She was born to the Edmon and Elizabeth Stuart Brantley on December 25, 1931 in Winnsboro and passed from this life, Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Franklin medical Center in Winnsboro.

Mrs. McCarty was a member of Wisner First Baptist Church. She married R. L. McCarty on December 13, 1956 in Winnsboro. She worked as a Teacher's Aide in the Franklin Parish School System for many years, and operated a private Day Care in Wisner.

She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years R. L. ``Son'' McCarty of Wisner; three children and their spouses Brenda and Otis Pirtle of Henderson, TX, Douglas Wayne and Debbie Etter of Marietta, GA, and Marc and Katie McCarty of Wisner; sister Gladys Dewitt; sister-in-law Ola Williams both of Crowville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bryan Morgan, Craig Morgan, Paula Isom, Teena Oswald, Cherri Miller, Lance Etter, Brianna Etter, Alison McCarty, and Drew McCarty; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Ken Batey, Mark Brister, John Davis, Patrick Pierce, Mike Watson, and Jesse Young.

Any planned memorials may be made to Wisner Baptist Church Building Fund in Mrs. McCarty's memory.
