Carolyn Faye Joyner, age 75 of Pioneer, died at her home on Dec. 6, 2005. She was born in Louisiana on Nov. 1, 1930.

She moved to California from Louisiana on a train with her three sons, to meet her husband who had already moved because of a teaching position. She was married to her husband John for 58 years. They lived in the mountains all their lives and moved from West Point to Pioneer.

She loved chatting with friends and family, as well as being an avid animal lover. She also enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her husband, John Joyner of Pioneer; sons, Butch Joyner of San Andreas, Charles Joyner of Flushing, N.Y., Gary Joyner of Ione; a daughter, Cheryl Starr of Fairfield; a brother, Robert Rivet of Shreveport, L.a.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. at McCrory's Funeral Home in Pine Grove.
