Carolyn Williams Allen

Shreveport, LA - A celebration of life for Carolyn Williams Allen, 83, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Road, Benton, La. Pastor Tommy Patton will officiate.

Carolyn was born August 30, 1930 to Alma and Madison Williams of Shreveport, LA, and she passed away peacefully on May 22, 2014. She was a long time member of Ford Park Baptist Church.

Carolyn was devoted to her family and friends. She was fiercely outgoing and never met a stranger. Her early years were spent as a career woman running the office for Wilson & Sandifer Architects. Her latter years were spent immersing herself in the community and her family. She volunteered for the Caddo Council on Aging, participated in many senior citizen programs and never missed a grandparent's day with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a talented line dancer, an Elvis Angel, and an avid traveler. She lived a life full of love, laughter and adventure.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joel Bryan Allen. She is survived by her brother, Jack Williams and wife, Judy; daughters, Stephanie Allen Lindsey and husband, Wayne; Nancy Allen Chandler and husband, Bobby; son, Joel Bryan Allen Jr.; grandchildren, Kimberly Brock Rich and husband, Alan; Kristina Lindsey Cater and husband, Bryan; Brandon Chandler and wife, Kimberly; Clayton Chandler and wife, Whitney; Bryan Chandler and girlfriend, Sary Ducas; great grandchildren, Sydney Rich, Madison Rich, Zachary Rich, Grayson Cater, Quinn Caroline Cater, Justin Chandler, Kendall Chandler, Cason Chandler, Vanessa Chandler and a new great grandson due in August.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff at Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care that she received over the last few weeks.
