MRS. C. E. BRANNON

SULPHUR (Spl.) -- Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Ella Brannon, 75, of 112 East Lyons street, Sulphur, were set at 4 p.m. today at the Hixson funeral home chapel in Sulphur with Rev. D. W. Hudsell, pastor of the Houston River Baptist church officiating. Rev. L. J. Skiles, pastor of the Olivet Baptist church and Rev. Joe Bartlett, pastor of the First Baptist church of Sulphur, were to assist. Burial was to be in Mimosa Pines Garden of Memories.

Mrs. Brannon died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the West Calcasieu-Cameron hospital following a long illness.

She was a native of Manifest and had lived in Sulphur 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist church.

Survivors are her husband, John S. Brannon of Sulphur; two daughters, Mrs. Avery Perkins of Sulphur, and Mrs. J. R. Harrington of Bridge City, Tex.; seven brothers, Tolly Girlinghouse of Pascagoula, Miss., Quitman Girlinghouse of Winnsboro, Archie and Gurvie Girlinghouse, both of Baton Rouge, and Rodney, Judge and Johnny Girlinghouse, all of Jena; two sisters, Mrs. Melisa Broussard of Sulphur and Mrs. Liza Paul of Jena; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
