Funeral rites scheduled for Mrs. Chitsey

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Lee Chitsey, 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, in McCrary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob May and Rev. Loyd Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.

Mrs. Chitsey died Wednesday, January 15, in Whispering Pines Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for the past three years. She was a lifelong resident of the Winnsboro area.

She was born August 12, 1889, in Franklin County to Steve Dunn and the former Augusta Ellis. In 1905 she married E.A. Chitsey, who died in June 1953. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Chitsey, Houston, and Raymond Chitsey, Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Boyd Joiner, Winnsboro; one brother, Claud Dunn, Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Eva Duhon, Dallas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Lucille Glasco, preceded her in death.

Grandsons who will serve as pallbearers are Stanley Johnson, J.M. Connally, Ernest Farrow III, Gregory Chitsey, Tommie Joiner, Harold Hipp and Donald Connally.
