CARRIE MAE (DOT) RAYNER

Carrie Mae (Dot) Rayner, 76, of Laurel, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Bethany Baptist Church in Jasper County, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ray Cummings will officiate. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rayner in 1981; two sons, Loyd Rayner and Clyde Rayner, Jr.; parents, Austin and Myrtle Westbrooks; and one brother, Loyd Westbrooks.

She is survived by two sons, James Rayner, Sr. and Billy Ray Rayner both of Laurel; five daughters, Shirley Yates and Cathy Breuzeale both of Laurel, Faye Lancaster of Columbus, Ann Corley of Tucson, Arizona and Betty Sue Walters of Seminary; two brothers, Charles Westbrooks and Herbert Westbrooks both of Columbus; three sisters, Barbara Williams, Lorien Crosby and Ruby Rogers all of Columbus; 24 grandchidlren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Brady, Jerry Brady, Paul Brady, Samuel Mashburn, Johnny Mashburn, Dave Robinson, David Barkley and Alex Rayner.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m., Friday. Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
