SMITH, CASSIE ``C.B.''

Died 10:10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 1986, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 72, a native of Lawrence County, Miss., and resident of St. Francisville. He was a retired lumber inspector, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, after 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes. Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, St. Francisville.

Survived by three daughters, Mrs. W.C. (Sue) Shaw, Zachary, Mrs. Kenneth (Faye) Griffin, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Mrs. Phil (Betty Lou) McKenna, Temple, Texas; two sons, Horace L. Smith, Picayune, Miss., and Robert L. Bob Smith, St. Francisville; a sister, Irene Smith, Ferriday; a brother, Cecil Smith, Clayton; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by wife, Hazel Rehm Smith; a son, James R. Smith; and three brothers, Winfred, Earl, and Robert Lee Smith.

Pallbearers will be Bob White, Phil McKenna Jr., Robbie Smith, Michael Langlois, Ronnie Smith, Bobby Brister, Steve Roberts, and Marc Herndes.
