Cecil Eugene Emmons
(September 19, 1940 - November 28, 2011)

Emmons, Cecil Eugene, 71 of Caldwell passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at his home. Services are planned for Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 1:00pm at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. David Norton officiating; burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota at 3:30 pm. The family will receive guests Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Emmons was born September 19, 1940 in Snook, to parents Harvey Emmons and Emmie Schoppe Emmons. Cecil worked as a Superintendent of Public Works department for the City of La Port, TX. He married Linda Glover May 6, 1972 in Deer Park, TX. Mr. Emmons had many hobbies and interests but what he enjoyed most was his grandchildren and playing bingo, and turkey shoots. In his younger years he enjoyed socializing and going to dances with Linda as well as watching the cowboys play. It was said he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Shirley Glover and Doris Pledger, and a brother Walter Floyd Emmons.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Linda Emmons of Caldwell, son David Wayne Emmons & wife Stephanie of The Meadows Place, TX three daughters; Jennifer R. Recio of Webster, Crystal J. Emmons of Caldwell, TX, and Dorothy Belanger & husband Harold of Houma, LA a brother Harvey Emmons Jr. & wife Martha of Pasadena, TX and a sister; Kathy Martin of Caldwell and twelve grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Emmons, Jerry Emmons, Gary Emmons, Speedy Emmons, Jessie Mendoza, John Mendoza, Larry Langham, Buuba Putz.
