Cecil Winn Succumbs to Short Illness

Cecil H. Winn, 61, of 3827 Woodrow St., died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in Willis-Knighton Hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Winn was the brother of the late Mrs. T. E. Walton Jr. of Shreveport. He was a native of Marthaville and had lived here 14 years. He taught school for the past 38 years, the last 12 of which were at Fair Park High School. He was a member of the Louisiana Teachers Association, the Caddo Teachers Association and was an active member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Lakeshore Baptist Church by Dr. Ira Peak, church pastor. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery by the First National Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Cecil L. Winn of Baton Rouge and Clint Winn of Shreveport; four brothers, T. Odus Winn of New Orleans, Leonard T. Winn of Zwolle, Harvey W. Winn of Gladewater, Tex. and Curtly R. Winn of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Ida Selby of Tyler, Tex., and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Dr. S. L. Carpenter, Ralph Mitchell, Price Paul, E. F. Martin, B. H. Brantly, J. D. Byars, Charles Towns and W. R. Higgs.
