Former Rapidian Is Killed in West

Cecil McGrew, 32, a Rapides parish native and chief deputy sheriff in Carlsbad, N. M., was killed Tuesday in the line of duty. Details were not available here.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Hixson Bros. Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.

McGrew is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace McGrew of Carlsbad; his mother, Mrs. A. R. Walker of Ball; one brother, Rev. W. D. Baker of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Larry Garcia of Albuquerque, N.M.
