Cecil Phillip Dampier
Funeral services for Cecil Phillip Dampier, 65, of Wisner, were held at 2 p.m., Feb. 19, at the Wisner First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kim Pilkinton and the Rev. Milton Williams officiating.
Interment was in Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
A native of Wisner, he was born Sept. 27, 1920. He was a retired postal employee, a veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church of Wisner. He died on Feb. 18, 1986, following a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife, Hettie Lee Dampier, Wisner; three sons, Phillip Dampier, Monroe, Jerry Dampier, Sheridan, Ark., and Donnie Dampier, Bosco; one daughter, Anita Johnson, Wisner; one sister, Mrs. Bill Carroll, Wisner and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eldon Brown, Ray Ferrington, W. H. Roach, Son Batey, Ray Young, Buck Smith, J. M. Calhoun and C. L. McDonald.
Honorary pallbearers were C. W. Scates, Buddy Watkins, Harold Stephens, Ott Cheatham, Mike Caldwell and Johnny McDonald.
