WHITTINGTON, CEDRIC

Funeral service for Cedric Whittington, 79 and a resident of Sulphur, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. Deacon Maurice Serice will officiate. Burial in Farquhar Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Thursday, June 17, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and on Friday, June 18, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Whittington died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Rosewood Nursing Home in Lake Charles.

Mr. Whittington was born on Feb. 6, 1925, to Donnie and Ethel Whittington in Liberty, Miss. He lived in Sulphur for 16 years, moving there from Baker. He was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 106.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Whittington of Sulphur; five sons, Johnny Whittington of Walker, Robert Whittington of Lake Charles, Don Whittington of Sulphur, Troy Whittington of Moss Bluff and Raymond Whittington of Sulphur; four daughters, Brenda Hinton of Lake Charles, Carol Meche of Sulphur, Wanda Blanchard of Plaquemine, and Susan Chellette of Lancaster, Calif.; two sisters, Thelma Riddle and Leverne Reeves, both of Baker; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
