Funeral services for Celia Parker McCarty, 90, of Newellton, were held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Bethany Baptist Church, Newellton, with the Rev. Pat Jackson and the Rev. Lunsford officiating.
Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
A native of Beech Creek, she was born March 31, 1898. She was a housewife. She died on Oct. 8, 1988.
Survivors include one son, Elmas P. McCarty, Bossier City; five daughters, Pauline McCarty, Monroe, Blondell Gebhart, Sanger, Calif., Catherine Shane, Farmersburg, Ind., Darlyn Little, Winnsboro and Evie Sanders, Haughton; two sisters, Ruth Parker, Crowville and Etoile Hammond, Naples, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
