C. ASTOR JOHNSON

BENSON-- Mr. Charles Astor Johnson age 85, retired building contractor of 407 E. Holmes St. died Saturday at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m.

Monday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Woodrow Miller. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born October 16, 1912 in Johnston County to the late Joseph Allen and Ora Chester Lee Johnson. He was married to the late Thelma J. Johnson. He was also a member of Johnson's Chapel Church.

Surviving include sons, Charles Johnson of Nashville, Gerald Johnson of Benson and Larry W. Johnson of Dunn; brother, Oliver Johnson of Benson; sister, Lellan Creech of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jo-Ann Johnson, Karen Fincher, Charles A. Johnson, III, Cameron Johnson and Chelsea Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ronnie Todd Johnson, Kelley Johnson, Sydney Capousis, and Devan Fincher.

Family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
