Charles R. Cutrer

Charles ``Charlie'' R. Cutrer, 47, of McComb, died of a heart attack Oct. 8, 2010, in Cairo, Egypt.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Family Family Funeral Services in McComb and continues there 10 a.m. Saturday until services at 11. The Rev. Dennis Walker will officiate, and burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mr. Cutrer was born Oct. 13, 1962, in Pike County, to Bessie Mae and Alton Cutrer Jr.

He worked in the oil industry for 30 years. He was a supervisor for 13 years, having worked for Pressure Service, HWC and Boots & Coots. His work carried him throughout the United States, Mexico, Scotland, Norway, Africa, Egypt and Iraq. He earned many safety awards during his career.

Mr. Cutrer enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and grilling out with family and friends. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. He loved his family, friends and the men he worked for and with over the years. He was a very loving, compassionate person and will be missed by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Paul G. Cutrer and Mike ``Booty'' Cutrer; a niece, Toni Cutrer Fusilier; grandparents, Alton Cutrer Sr. and Julia Forbes Cutrer, and Julius and Nellie Mae Freeman; and an uncle, Vena Cutrer.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 21 years, Marion K. Breithaupt Cutrer; a son, Austin Cutrer; two daughters, Michaela and Hanu Grace Cutrer; his mother, Bessie Mae; sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Bill Wall; two sisters-in-law, Regina Cutrer and Cindy Cutrer; two nieces, Joy Wall Eads and Jennifer Cutrer Berberette; three nephews, Corey Wall and Ronnie and Dustin Cutrer; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Joe Briethaupt, Jimmy Breithaupt, Lane O'Quin, Danny Boyd, Robert House and Jerry Hart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wall, Jason Alford, Jeff Lancaster, Darnell Smith and all the men who worked with him in the oilfield -- though absent in body they are here in spirit -- and all men of Open Door Baptist Church.
