OAK GROVE (Special) -- Charles Christopher Whittington, 70, of Louann, Ark., died Wednesday morning at Ouachita County Hospital in Camden, Ark., following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home in Oak Grove, with the Rev. Daulton Hutson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eula Lee Whittington of Louann; two sons, Charles C. Whittington of Opelika, Ala., and William H. Whittington of San Diego, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Maud Emily Durham of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Marion Gober of McGehee, Ark., Mrs. Elma Lee Harris of Louann, Mrs. Marie McClendon of Magnolia, Miss., Mrs. Mary Spillman of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Inez Sikes of Cordele, Ga.; five brothers, Bud Whittington of Eudora, Ark., Hamp Whittington of Lake Village, Ark., Roger Whittington of Fort Smith, Ark., Tom Whittington of Delhi, Pete Whittington of Liberty, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Velma Hutchinson and Mrs. Daisy Whittington, both of McComb, Miss., and Mrs. Mildred Wilkinson of Michigan; 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alva and Sonny Whittington, A. B. Potter, Son Savage, Cary Brown, Benny Watts and Carl Collins.
