LAKE PROVIDENCE (Special) -- Charles C. Girod, 77, of Lake Providence died Thursday in a Vicksburg hospital after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
Burial will be in Columbia.
Local arrangements are being directed by First National Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Griffin of Transylvania, Mrs. Roland Davis of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Johnie B. White of Arcadia, Tex. and Mrs. Edna L. Moe of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; four sons, W. R. Girod of Mobile, Ala., C. H. Girod of Angola, Bobby Girod of W[illegible] and Preston Girod of [illegible], Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. [illegible].

Former Kelly Resident Died On Thursday
Funeral services for Charles C. Girod, 77-year-old Lake Providence resident, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Mr. Girod was a native of Caldwell Parish, being reared in the Kelly community.
Interment was made in the Columbia Hill Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son.
Mr. Girod died Thursday in a Vicksburg Hospital after only a short illness.
Local arrangements were directed by First National Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Griffin of Transylvania, Mrs. Roland Davis of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Johnny B. White of Arcadia, Tex. and Mrs. Edna L. Moe of Ft. McDaniel of Olla, Mrs. Nease McDaniel of Kelly and Mrs. Eunice Buckalew of Columbia; two brothers, Homer Girod of Baton Rouge and Eldgar Girod of Olla; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Merton Girod, who is employed at McIlwain Motors in Columbia, is a nephew.
