Charles Guice

EPPS (Special) -- Charles Guice, 84, died Friday morning in a Shreveport hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Epps area since 1910.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Epps Baptist Church, with Rev. Bassell Halbert officiating, and Rev. Homer Mercer assisting. Burial will be in Bayou Mason [sic Macon] Cemetery under direction of Gay's Funeral Home of Delhi.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Guice, Epps; six sons, Hixon Guice and Harry Guice, both of Epps, Cecil Guice, Minden, J. C. Guice, Pioneer, Buster Guice and Huey Guice, both of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. J. T. Duckworth, Epps; four brothers, Fielding Guice and Rass Guice, both of Sicily Island, Ira Guice, Ferriday, and Elmo Guice, Engleton, Tex.; 31 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Henry Jones, W. S. Jones, W. S. Barker, M. L. Gardner, Frank Smith and Ernest Miller.

The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services.
