SHREVEPORT - Services for Mr. Charles E. Sasser, 73, of Shreveport, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday August 15 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The Rev. Crawford Williams, pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church, where Mr. Sasser was a member, will officiate. Burial will be at Centuries Memorial Park.
Mr. Sasser died Friday August 14, 1987, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. He was born in Pineville, La. and lived most of his life in Shreveport. Mr. Sasser was retired as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was formerly a coach and umpire for SPAR. Mr. Sasser was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Snead Sasser of Shreveport; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Sasser of Shreveport; a sister and brother-in-law, Sibyl and James Hamilton of Hot Springs, Ark.; three granddaughters, Debbie Cowart of Haughton, La., Pam Sasser of Kilgore, Texas and Angela Sasser of Shreveport; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Cowart; and two nephews.
