CARROLLTON -- Charles Edward Carpenter, retired farmer of near Carrollton died Monday at the Golden Age Nursing home, Greenwood. He was 75.

He was a lifelong resident of Carroll county, and was married to the late Miss Elizabeth Emmons. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist church.

Services will be held Tuesday Jan. 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Sansang officiating. Burial will be in the Emmons cemetery near Carrollton with Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Carpenter is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. R. Rollbert [sic Tolbert], Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. J. L. McDaniel, Carrollton; two sisters, Mrs. Lollie Thompson, Greenwood, Mrs. I. P. Duke, Carrollton.
