Charles Taunton

REYNOLDS -- Graveside services for Charles Taunton, 57, of Reynolds, will be held on Sunday at 2 P.M. at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sidney Jones officiating. Mr. Taunton was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. He was employed with Public Service Telephone Company for 35 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter 1 O/S bars, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Leola Peacock Taunton and a sister, Martha Jean Barkley.

Survivors include son, Rusty Charles Taunton of Albany; his companion, Linda Pitts of Reynolds; brothers, Cecil Taunton of Reynolds, Hallie Taunton and Therman Taunton both of Butler and Gary Taunton of Columbus; sisters, Brenda Hobbs of Ellerstile, Linda Carmon of St. Petersburg, FL, Wanda Ussery of Rincon; a granddaughter, Savanna Faye Taunton of Albany; eighteen nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Goddard Funeral Home of Reynolds is in charge of arrangements.
