Heart Trouble Claims Young Life

A shadow of sorrow was cast over the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Roberts in the death of their son, Charles Elbert Roberts, who passed away in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Belleville, Sunday evening at 6:40 o'clock, following a lingering illness superinduced by heart trouble. He had attained the age of nine years, 2 months, and six days.

The youth had been ailing for the past three months--and on Saturday, his condition became serious, necessitating removal to the hospital where he passed peacefully away.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Schwarz chapel where services were conducted by Rev. L. E. Morris, pastor of the First M. E. church. Burial was in Tiedemann cemetery. School mates of the boy served as pallbearers. They were Raymond Meiners, John Budina, Jr., Elmo Scheibel, Billy Miller, Alan Bernhardt and Robert Mertz.

Charles E. Roberts was born in this city April 10, 1920. He attended the grade schools where he was a student in Grade 5. Besides the parents he leaves three brothers, James Morris, Arthur Richard and George William Roberts, all at home. Also his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Roberts of Booster Station.
