Charles Eugene ``Gene'' Emmons

LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Charles Eugene ``Gene'' Emmons, 76, were held Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Emmons and the Rev. Paul Dyal officiating. Burial followed in Blue Water Cemetery.

Mr. Emmons died Saturday, April 30, at his residence in Livingston.

He was born Oct. 17, 1928 in Joaquin, the son of Isaak ``Ike'' and Ella Bussey Emmons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Emmons; his parents; daughter, Brenda Elaine Fender; brother, Joseph Bernard Emmons; sister, Netta Mae Eaves and grandchild, Dwayne Emmons.

Survivors include his sons, Richard E. Emmons of Livingston and David L. Emmons of Woodville; daughters, Wanda Gail Kruse of Marshall, Ruth Annette Murphy of Livingston and Becky Lynn Hendrix of Livingston; brother, W.L. ``Bill'' Emmons of Houston; sisters, Patsy Hunt of Highlands and Virgie Sherrouse of Shepherd; grandchildren, Charles Richard Emmons, Paul David Emmons, Pam Emmons Holmes, Brandy Kruse Spears, Brenda Fender Reel, Tanisha Reeves Findley, Heath Kruse, Dwight Fender, Roman Reeves, Reese Kruse, Jessica Walding, Brian Walding, Lauren Murphy, Kaycee Hendrix, Courtney Hendrix and Kaylee Hendrix and great-grandchildren, Chesney, Tristan, Samantha, Christopher, Bryce, Graden, Brock, Walker, Hope, Madison, Derrick, Lewis, Michael and Lauren.

Pallbearers were Dwight Fender, Paul Emmons, Roman Reeves, Heath Kruse, Reese Kruse, Chris Reel, Lewis Findley, Steve Spears and Paul Holmes. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Hendrix, J.R. Kruse and Frank Norman Murphy.
