Chuck Gilcrease

Pickens -- Charles F. “Chuck” Gilcrease, 77, husband of Mildred Snow “Millie” Gilcrease, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012.

Chuck was born in Zowelle [sic Zwolle], La. a son of the late Edward and Hazel Adams Gilcrease. He was retired from The U. S. Air Force with service during Viet Nam and later retired as an electrician with The Greenville Hospital System. Chuck was a member of Oolenoy Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of The Auditorium Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Millie Snow Gilcrease of the home, sons Charles Scott Gilcrease of the home and Steven Keith Gilcrease (Jane) of Pickens, grandchildren, Kendall, Isham, Catherine and Elizabeth Gilcrease and great grandchildren, Isaiah Brady, Jackson Gilcrease, and Grace Williams. Also surviving are brothers Thomas Gilcrease of Orange, Texas and David Gilcrease of Huntsville, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Gilcrease and a sister Murline Barrow.

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Oolenoy Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrel Robinson and the Rev. J. Carroll Plemmons officiating.
