MIAMI DOCTOR DIES AT HOME
Final Rites Friday For Dr. Charles F. Rendel Of Mexico
Peru, Sept. 1 -- Dr. Charles Franklin Rendel, 73, well-known Mexico physician, died at his residence early Wednesday morning. He had been ill for the past three years. Death was attributed to heart block.
Born in Noble county, Aug. 19, 1875, he was the son of John and Catherine (Haller) Rendel. He was married at Albion, Ind., in 1905, to Ruby Agnes Mae Lash, who survives.
Dr. Rendel graduated from Indiana Medical college in 1905 and came here the following year for Wawaka, Ind. He was a member of the Mexico Methodist church, the Mexico F. and A. M., Indiana State Medical Association, and the Miami County Medical Society.
He had been a practicing physician in this vicinity for the past 42 years and remained active until his death.
Surviving besides the widow are two sons, James Walter, Gary, and Dr. Harold E. Rendel, Mexico; two brothers, John Rendel, Coffeyville, Kans.; and Forrest Rendel, Gary; a sister, Mrs. Paul Ward, Hillsdale, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Mexico Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert D. Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery at Mexico.
The body will be returned from the McCain funeral home at Denver to the late residence where friends may call after Thursday noon. It will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. Friday until time of services.
