CHARLES F. WALSWORTH

DODSON, Nov. 24 (Special) -- Funeral services were held at the Winnfield Presbyterian Church Wednesday for Charles Franklin Walsworth, 66, a former clerk of court of Winn Parish for 24 years. Walsworth died in Monroe Tuesday at 12:26 p.m. after several years of illness.

Ministers officiating were Rev. Robert Gage of Winnfield, Rev. Earl B. Wiggins of Natchitoches, and Rev. M. A. Walsworth of Campti. Burial was in the Winnfield cemetery.

Walsworth came to Dodson as a young man in 1910 from Boatner, La., where he was born. He accepted a position as cashier in the Dodson Bank and while in Dodson married Miss Maggie Lee. In 1920, Walsworth, with his family, moved to Winnfield where he became associated with Shaw-Carter and later Shreveport Mill and Elevator Co.

In 1928 he was elected clerk of court and held this position continuously for 24 years, after which time he retired. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and State Clerk Association. His first wife died and he later married Miss Margaret Winchell of Roanoke.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Walsworth of Abbeville; two sons, Charles of Atlanta, Ga., and Doyle of Ardmore, Okla.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Miley Walsworth of Winnfield and John T. Walsworth of West Monroe.
