S. L. [sic C. L.] EMMONS

CLARKS, Sep. 26. -- (Special) -- S. L. [sic C. L.] Emmons, 69, who had been in ill health for several years, died Monday following a stroke suffered last Friday.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the family residence. Interment was in Old Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Paul Jones, Baptist pastor, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Walker, Pentecostal pastor.

Mr. Emmons was a native of Con[e]hatta, Miss., where he married Miss Ada Volentine in 1891. In 1902 they moved to Ouachita parish and later moved to Caldwell parish.

Surviving him are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Tom Coody and Mrs. William Oxner, Grayson; three sons, Clyde Emmons, Grayson, Mecom and Marshall Emmons, Clarks; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren living in the vicinity of Clarks.
