CHARLES PRESTON REDDOCH

Charles Preston ``Red'' Reddoch of Jackson, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Lakeland Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Sunset Gardens in Laurel.

He was a native of Laurel and a resident of Florence. He was a retired insurance salesman and manager for Bankers Life & Casualty Insurance Co. where he was awarded the Top Salesman Award. He played baseball for the Cleveland Indians and the New Orleans Pelicans. He was in the Semi-Pro Hall of Fame and managed the Masonite Baseball team. He was a charter member of the Fred Walters Cookout in Laurel and was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by two daughters, Patsy Hughes of Raleigh and Rhonda Jones of Ridgeland; three sons, Larry Reddoch of Gulfport, Jerry Reddoch of Waynesboro and Ronald ``Sonny'' Reddoch of Florence; one sister, Christine Jordan of Temple, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Nowell Flippin Funeral Home in Ridgeland is in charge of arrangements.
