CHARLES S. DUNN

WINNFIELD, June 7 (Special) -- Charles S. Dunn, 81, retired carpenter of the Joyce community died Monday at his residence following a short illness.

Funeral services were held at East Winnfield Pen[t]ecostal Church, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ruth Gunter officiating assisted by Rev. J. C. Sweeney.

Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Lee, Seldon, Sam, Leroy and J. W., all of Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. A. E. Frederick, Mrs. W. C. Grice, Mrs. W. P. Shows, Mrs. C. M. Shirley, all of Winnfield; 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Zora Shore, of Bell, Calif.

Charles Stafford Dunn, 81, Buried In East Winnfield June 7

Funeral services for Charles Stafford Dunn, 81, who died June 6, at his home in East Winnfield after a long illness, were held Tuesday, June 7, at the Joyce Assembly of God Church, with Sister Ruth Gunter and the Rev. J. C. Swinnea officiating. Burial was in the East Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Leonard Fletcher, D. Ingles, Alfred Spangler, Herbert Spangler, C. L. Sweat, and Clarence Weatherford.

A native of Rapides Parish, Mr. Dunn had lived most of his life in Winn. He joined the Baptist Church at an early age and he was employed at public works before his retirement.

Mr. Dunn leaves his wife and five sons and four daughters, all residents of Winnfield. They are Lee Dunn, W. S. Dunn, Sam Dunn, Roy Dunn, and J. W. Dunn; Mrs. Arthur Fredericks, Sr., Mrs. W. C. Grice, Mrs. W. P. Shows, and Mrs. Cas Shirley.

He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
