Charles Thomas Brogan
Charles Thomas Brogan of Laurel, Mississippi was born May 13, 1928 and died April 25, 2014. He spent the majority of his life in Laurel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Douglas and Hattie Thompson Brogan, siblings Dorothy (Curtis) Brogan Bradford of Laurel; Barbara (O.R. “Bill”) Brogan Holifield of Laurel; Billy Brogan of Meridian; Mary Brogan (Odell) Parker of Laurel; Norma (John) Brogan Johnston of Jackson, and grandson Daniel Evan.
He is survived by his wife, Dorice Towns Brogan of Laurel; children Mark (Joannie) Brogan from Ellisville, Cynthia (James) Brogan Swindle of Birmingham; Linda Brogan Jordan of Diamondhead; and Donald Brogan of Laurel; Grandsons Jared (Tracy) Brogan and Joel (Kelli) Brogan of Ellisville; and Steffen Swindle of Tuscaloosa; great grandsons Patrick and Colin Brogan of Ellisville and a host of nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the US Air Force during Korean Conflict where he was stationed at Keesler AFB. He studied marketing and earned a Bachelor's degree in 1955 from USM, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He served many years as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America and Church Deacon. He loved his family, church, music, sports, and USM.
Services will be 4 PM Sunday at Memory Chapel with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 PM Sunday at Memory Chapel. Dr. Paul Brashier will officiate.
Pallbearers include Douglas Bradford, Michael Holifield, Thomas Brogan, Jack Brogan, Gary Parker, and John W. “Jay” Johnston.
