C. W. DOWNS IS DEATH VICTIM; RITES HELD HERE

C. W. Downs, lifetime resident of Attala and well known farmer, died at his residence in Kosciusko after an illness of several months. He was 81.

Member of the Kosciusko Methodist Protestant Church, he was active in church activities as long as his health permitted.

Funeral Services were held at the Methodist Protestant Church, with services conducted by Rev. Sam Hobbins. Interment was in the city cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Katie Downs, he leaves two daughters, Mary Harbin, Greenwood and Iva Wilkinson, Memphis; one son, Charlie P. Downs, Dossville; one sister, Lou Counts, Greenwood; three brothers, Sam Downs, Drew; Bill Downs, Batesville, and Bob Downs, Sunflower. 17 grandchildren.
