CHARLES WEBSTER WALKER

Charles was born August 18, 1927, a native of Oak Grove, LA. He died peacefully in his Blue Lake home Monday, August 8, 2005, cradled in the arms of his son, John Paul Walker.

Born a sharecropper, he also worked the oil fields in Texas, then settled here and worked at Simpson Mill for 29 years, until his retirement (1960-1989).

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Roseanne Pepper; sisters, Gladys and Era; wife, Edith Fay (1975); a son, James W., 42, who passed away last November; and a beloved longtime companion, Vallie H. Seat.

He is survived by his sons, John Paul, 40 of Blue Lake and Charles Michael, 44 of Utah and daughter-in-law, Marianne; three brothers, J.E., John H., and Willis; and a sister, Ethel, all residing in Bastrop, LA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, April, 17, Amber, 10, and Shannon, 8, all of Utah.

A memorial service (no viewing) will be held Friday, August 19, 2005, at Paul's Chapel at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend.
