Charles William Masters

Feb. 20, 1943 -- April 6, 2003

NATCHEZ -- Services for Charles William Masters, 60, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Donny Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Masters was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Jonesville, La., the son of Johnny Osa and Blanche Ivey Masters. He grew up working in the family's roofing business and worked 30 years in the oil industry.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Masters of Natchez; one son, Mark James of Natchez; one daughter, Michele Barlow of Natchez; two grandchildren of Natchez; his mother, Blanche Jones of Tallulah, La.; one sister, Sissy Chunn of Bastrop, La.; three brothers, Johnny Masters and David Masters, both of Vidalia and Wayne Masters of Bastrop; and 24 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his brothers, a nephew, Travis Masters, E.J. Conner and Marvin Minyard.
