Charley Lincecum
In a Houston hospital at the age of 64, the devoted husband and father went home to be with his Lord on June 29, 2002.
He was a member of Bentley United Pentecostal Church and a licensed general contractor.
He resided in Prospect with his wife Carolyn Albert Lincecum and son Tyler Lincecum. He also leaves behind five other children, Dennis Lincecum of Alexandria, Penny Dickey of Georgetown, Kimberly Marler of Lake Charles, Kevin Gibson of Prospect and Kelton Gibson of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother Leon Lincecum of Georgetown; four sisters, Estelle Alwhite, Deloise Whidden [sic Whiddon] and Maxine Hatten, all of Georgetown, and Laverne McNaughton of Olla; and 10 grandchildren.
He was born November 27, 1937 in Selma, La. to George Dee and Ethel Nugent Lincecum. His parents and a brother, Perry Lincecum precede him in death. Raised around the sawmills of Selma led to his success as a builder for over 40 years. His love for his work gained him a lifetime of friendships as he constructed many homes in the Central La. area. As a member of the La. Home Builders Association for the last 15 years, he has earned many safety awards. He was an avid antique car collector. Charley attended Bentley UPC faithfully. He served as co-captain of the annual fund-raising event for the building fund and served as co-captain for the senior church members group.
To honor his life and give thanks to our Lord for the blessing that Charley has been to all of us, the family will receive friends at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, at the church. The service will be at Bentley UPC Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Revs Leland Briggs, Carl Wheatley, Allen Hatten and Bruce Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Lincecum Cemetery, Georgetown.
Pallbearers will be Delton Hatten, Brian Calk, Jerry Slocum, Kenny Price, Jack Barnhart and Keith Powers. Memorials may be made to the Bentley UPC Building Fund.
