Charlie Boykin

Funeral services for Charlie Boykin, 65, were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton. The Rev. Scott Walters officiated. Interment was made in the Goodwater Cemetery in Smith County.

Boykin died Friday at the Scott County Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.

A native of Smith County, he had been a resident of Lake for the past 13 years, and was a former resident of Forest, and Lorena. He was a retired employee of Southeastern Poultry Co., and was a member of the Goodwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Hobart Boykin, Brandon, Ruben and Wendell Boykin, both of Lake, John Bill Boykin, Ft. Campbell, Ky., and Bobby Boykin, Homewood; three daughters, Mrs. Troy Smith, Morton, Mittie Louise Boykin, Jackson, and Mrs. Linda Faye Griffin, Sebastopol; one brother, Hillard Boykin, Braxton; one sister, Mrs. Elmer Atwood, Meridian; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Arthur Miley, Walter Wicker, Ray Gentry, James Warren, Clayton Abel, and William Griffin.
