Charlie Corley, Former Winn Resident, Dies
Charlie Clevrn Corley, 60, of Monroe, died at 3:50 a.m., June 4, 1972, in
Pineville.
A former resident of Winnfield, Mr. Corley was a retired employee of Louisiana
State Highway Department.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Hixson Brothers Chapel with
Rev. J. D. Enterkin officiating, assisted by Rev. James Gorham. Interment was
in Winnfield Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Cotton Corley; three sons, Charles L.
Corley of West Monroe, John Corley of Goldonna, and Lonnie Corley; two
daughters, Miss Elizabeth Corley and Mrs. Marilyn Morgan, both of Abeline,
Texas; four stepsons, Claude Sant of Greenville, Miss., Joe Sant of
Mendenhall, Miss., W. T. Sant of Hattiesburg, Miss., and George Sant of
Pollock; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Matthews and Mrs. Bertha Miller, both
of Mendenhall, Miss., Mrs. Myrtle Manful [sic Manfull] of Midland, Texas, and Mrs. Bessie
Appleton of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. J. L. Jackson of Joyce; 13
grandchildren, and 36 step grandchildren.
