Opelousas, La., Oct. 23. -- Charlie Cottingham, 80-year-old prominent planter of St. Landry parish, who died at his home near this city Saturday, was buried Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when hundreds of friends paid final tribute to him. The funeral services were held at the Sandoz Funeral parlors, with interment in Myrtle Grove cemetery, the Rev. James E. Selfe of the local Methodist church officiating.

Mr. Cottingham is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cynthia Cottingham, three sons, Russel and Robert of Beaumont and Ben of Houston, and one daughter, Mrs. F. A. Faley [sic Fahey] of Beaumont.
